editorial overview

At S.W.A.T., "good enough" isn't.

First, we recruited the best and brightest minds to write on the subjects of tactics and weaponcraft. Not a single name on our distinguished list of contributors is a professional author-not one. All are dedicated professionals in the fields of training and law enforcement. The fact that they can convey their thoughts on paper as well as they can verbally while on a firing line is of secondary importance to what they have to say.

Next we added color to every page. Was this more expensive than staying with a handful of color pages? Yes, but we believe our readers deserve the best-and at no increase of cost to the reader.

Now, while most magazines are scaling back and decreasing the size of their publications, S.W.A.T. once again raises the bar and expands from eighty to a full one hundred pages-again at no increase in cost. Are we crazy? No, we just believe that when someone lays down their hard-earned money they deserve the best possible value for their dollar. And that's what we promise to deliver with each and every issue. Comparing S.W.A.T. to the competition is like comparing a steak dinner to an individual-sized bag of potato chips.

Our January issue is packed with training articles and firearm evaluations. As always, we point out both good and bad features in in-depth articles. If you're tired of a "good enough" attitude, you're ready for S.W.A.T.
